One 2 Think aims to empower girls, boys and youth in Bangladesh by training them in 21st-century skills
One 2 Think aims to empower girls, boys and youth in Bangladesh through quality education by training them in life skills: personal, interpersonal and cognitive skills. As a result, they can cope with everyday challenges and adapt in a fast-changing society by using the skills all through their personal and professional life.
The learning of life skills must be accessible to every child and young person regardless of their race, gender, nationality, ethnicity, social and economic background, religious belief, political opinion, sexual orientation or disability.
Skills such as critical thinking, self-confidence and negotiation should be developed at school as they are a crucial part of quality education (United Nations sustainable development goal 4). Life skills are essential in a country like Bangladesh for personal safety and can have a lasting impact as they are used on a daily basis.
The outcomes of 21st-century skills are not only measurable in terms of knowledge, but also in terms of attitudes, behaviors and values. According to One 2 Think, teaching life skills also encourages students to stay in school, because they are transfered in an interactive way, applying innovative methods.
Thanks to life skills, boys, girls and youth can be empowered, act safely, with positivity, be responsible and respected, and make their voice heard in the society, as young people and later as adults.
They can reach their full potential, be active citizens in their communities and be the actors of change. In the labor market, life skills are called soft skills and represent a considerable asset as well. They are often considered as more important than technical skills according to the World Bank, because they cannot by replaced by algorithms.
Thanks to life skills girls, boys and adolescents will be able to:
